In lieu of providing articles for you this week (because, frankly, I ran out of time to curate them), I recommend you read this piece by Sarah Coppin.
In her post, Sarah provides some great insights as to why Millennials may be feeling burned out and struggling in work and life, and why other generations are misunderstanding them.
Though I am a Gen X’er, and not a Boomer, I will admit to being one of those who complains about the work ethic of “younger folks,” Millennials included. To me, it seems like they have life much better off than any generation before, at least convenience-wise, yet, that’s not providing fulfillment or drive for them.
I definitely recommend reading the full article, as Sarah reasons through some astute observations, then builds on those points to describe how the effects snowball and how it all affects Millennials’ work performance.
Ultimately, she concludes, Millennials are looking for hope, and the world is not providing it.
Definitely worth a read.
